| This was Wandak's first trip around the mountain. He impressed me as being incredibly tough . . . and a bit of a scholar in that he, like many of us, kept a diary. One of the other Sherpas teased him saying, "For one-hundred percent sure in two weeks he will have spent his entire salary on prostitutes and beer." In fact though he spent all of his money taking care of his family and educating his brother. |
